Three Graces

The artist Oliver Hahn describes his artwork "Three Graces" by saying, "Actually, it's a painting machine, always painting some new shapes into the sky moved by the wind".

The kinetic sculpture by Hahn shows three female figures made of stainless steel in a frame of five by three meters, dancing through the wind. Inspiration for the piece was the Nürnberger Strasse in the Charlottenburg district, for which it was originally selected in a competition. The ballroom Femina, a dancing hot spot until the 90's, as well as the female body as a symbol of love and the dance in the wind as a sign of the infinity of its shape were all starting points. The "Three Graces" danced for ten years on the roof in Charlottenburg, until in 2015 they found their new ballroom on the Malzfabrik.

The graces will become part of the meadow near the ponds in the spring. Until then they are still in the hands of Oliver Hahn, who gives them the finishing touch.
