ans Licht gebracht

The art project "ans Licht gebracht" by Urs Jaeggi and Rolf Külz Mackenzie speaks in pictures, drawings, sculptures, photographs, installations, spatial sceneries and poetry about current social distortions.

From June 30 to September 25 the exhibition can be visited in the Keimkästen of the Alte Mälzerei.

The project is build on three installation parts under the theory "Zerbrochene Fenster" (broken windows) and "grenz uber” (cross over) to. The "broken window" parabola contemplates the disintegration of the city and rising crime rates. Real staged broken windows are lined up with photographs of home openings.

The installation "grenz uber" works with music and sound fragments and space objects. These sounds, phrases, words resound from an ensemble of lavatory pans. The saxophone sounds of Hans Koch and texts by Urs Jaeggi complement the sound space. The two installation parts are finally supplemented by pictures, drawings and found objects from the private collection of Urs Jaeggi.

The exhibition also gives room for actions, discussions on current political, social, environmental abuses, distortions and art. On the occasion of the 85th birthday "ans Licht gebracht" opens June 29 at 7 pm with a welcome by Frank Sippel, cultural attaché at the Swiss embassy Philipp Bräuer and an introduction by Rolf Külz-Mackenzie, and the reading by Urs Jaeggi accompanied by Jan-Peter Sonntag on trombone.
