On 26 June 2013 entrepreneurs, politicians and representatives of automobile associations and networks gathered on the Malzfabrik for a special event: the advanced course electromobility.
What looked like a school event including chalkboard and desks was a meeting of medium-sized automotive suppliers based in Berlin and Brandenburg. They had done their homework and introduced the public to the project status of the technical requirements and a design study. Result: the new EQ, the first charging infrastructure-independent ultra-lightweight vehicle for urban metropolitan areas.
In contrast to common electric cars, the EQ does not depend on heavy and expensive batteries, but uses a light and portable battery case which needs no expensive charging infrastructure. The EQ battery can quickly and easily be recharged at any standard household power outlet.
The EQ is a modern single-seater with a trunk, which represents an ideal mobility alternative especially for large cities. It can be parked anywhere even with little space, has a highway authorization and is perfectly designed for medium distances.
We look forward to seeing the first Eqs on the Malzfabrik!
