Gallery Marianne Grob, in cooperation with the Malzfabrik, shows the exhibition "ART IS EVERYWHERE" on the occasion of Urs Jaeggi´s 80th birthday, in over 1,000 square meters of exciting space in the Alte Mälzerei.
Urs Jaeggi engages the elecrifying rooms of the old factory and all the traces from the past
in a dialogue with his work. Everyday objects, tools and machines appear in symbiosis
with works of art. For Urs Jaeggi, it is a retrospective in an ideal environment.
Born in Switzerland, he began early with painting, went on to work as a bank clerk while finishing school to study economics, sociology and social philosophy. For almost 30 years Urs Jaeggi was a professor of sociology at universities in Bern, Bochum, New York and Berlin. It was only later that he rediscovered art again for himself. Since then, he has realized several installations in galleries, museums and public spaces, and has written numerous scientific books, novels and short stories.
