The ROSTLAUBE - Containerfarm Berlin

Our current project, the Rostlaube - container farm in Berlin, is not only a special building with a pretty design, but also a step further towards sustainability and innovation.

This discarded container is a kind of modern allotment garden for the city of the 21st century, in which both fish farming and vegetable growing is realized in a small space, in accordance with the guidelines of sustainability. All nutrients from the fish feces in the water are taken up by plants and thus serve as a natural fertilizer. By this biologically closed system, an innovative contribution to environmental preservation is offered for future generations, and nature and agriculture are brought back into the city.

We´re plannning farm tours for school classes, families, nature lovers and the curious.
Depending on the age group, various tours can be offered when visiting the Rostlaube, like lectures about nutrition and slow food, painting and craft activities, joint harvesting and cooking events. The Rostlaube offers a unique learning experience in biological sciences and nutrition as well as inspiration and lots of fun for people of all ages.

We will open the container farm at our big summer festival, the MALZMEADOW on June 4th 2011.

Be there - we look forward to seeing you!
