German Local Sustainability Award ZeitzeicheN

Exemplary local initiatives that build bridges in society and encourage sustainable action were honored in Dortmund on October 27th with the German Local Sustainability Award ZeitzeicheN.

  

Out of 138 applications, a jury of 14 members awarded prize winners in the categories initiatives, municipalities, international partnerships, companies, youth, education for sustainable development and communication. The Malzfabrik was nominated for sustainable real estate development.

 

The Jury for the German Local Sustainability Award ZeitzeicheN was among others: Robert Böhnke - Council for Sustainable Development, Martina Eick - Environment Bureau, Martin Glöckner - GreenCity eV, Thomas Haberland - Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Construction and Reactor Safety, Silvia Hesse -Project Workshop Environment & Development.

 

The six winners were honored at St. Petry Church in Dortmund by Dr. Sabine Heymann - LE-Regio Leipzig, each with a theme-specific laudator as well as Karen Thormeyer - Managing Director GRÜNE LIGA Berlin and spokeswoman of the Netzwerk21Kongress. The prize is intended to give special recognition to the work already done as well as the ongoing and long-term projects.

 

We sincerely congratulate the Havelgarten in Brandenburg-Havel, Bürgerwerke eG, Human & Environment e.V., Information Center 3rd World Dortmund e.V., Werkstattschule Rostock and Kreis Recklinghausen with its intercultural garden for refugees, 100% green electricity from citizens for citizens and a fair day-care center, all great and above all sustainable contributions.
