BZI Workshop

On October 10th the BZI - Berlin Centre for Industrial Heritage - invited us, together with a number of tourist facilities in Berlin, to a workshop at the ufaFabrik.

After a brief welcome by Mrs. Sigrid Niemer, manager of the ufaFabrik, we went on an insightful tour of working and living at the ufaFabrik. After visiting a theater hall and the solar roof panels, we engaged in a discussion about new-energy landscapes.

The workshop started at 3 pm with a round of introductions of guests as well as the new tourism concept of the BZI, which aims to develope industrial heritage as a new tourist agenda for Berlin. We listened intently and established new contacts with organizers of historical tours and time travels. The Malzfabrik also suggested its own Malzreise in this context.

Further topics of discussion were the current status of tourist offers in Berlin and the role of the BZI as a networking platform for the industrial heritage partners. We are grateful for the informal afternoon, the new acquaintances and are already looking forward to the upcoming workshops.
